Pekomama — Usada Pekora’s Mother (hololive)

On December 13, 2020, Pekora told her mother on stream that she worked as a VTuber. The real-time family conversation brought Pekomama's soft voice to viewers years before she had a character model of her own. When Pekora teased a channel takeover for April Fools' Day 2024, longtime fans already had a reason to recognize her mother as more than a mysterious silhouette.

The April 1, 2024 special introduced her as ぺこらマミー, styled in English as Pekomama or Pekora Mummy. Illustrator Hikosan created the blue-haired, rabbit-themed character design, and Takeshita Fungi (茸下ふんぎ) produced the Live2D model. The 'MamaLive' branding and takeover teaser played with the idea of a second streamer in the family, but the event remained part of Pekora's channel rather than an independent hololive talent announcement.

Her introductory stream aired at 9 p.m. Japan time. Pekomama showed off her model and answered profile questions: she gave November 2 as her birthday, 160 cm as her avatar height, and left her age a secret. She said she liked going for drives and listening to music, particularly X Japan, while naming omelet rice and strawberries among her favorite foods. Her shyness was apparent even as she tried to follow the presentation prepared with Pekora.

A viewer Q&A drew out stories about Pekora's childhood and her family. Pekora eventually joined her mother, turning a tentative solo introduction into their familiar back-and-forth. The two played the original Super Mario Bros., with Pekomama struggling to keep up with the controls. VSTATS recorded a peak of 181,246 concurrent viewers—a figure for that one broadcast, not a permanent audience size. The show also introduced fan tags and names, including #ぺこママといっしょ for streams and #ぺこママみて for art.

Pekomama appeared again on July 17, 2025, during a program celebrating Pekora's sixth VTuber anniversary. What began as a mother–daughter talk grew into a call-in gathering, giving Pekomama another chance to converse with experienced streamers while Pekora reacted beside her.

Shirogane Noel, La+ Darknesss, Kikirara Vivi, Tokino Sora, Otonose Kanade and AZKi were among the callers. The guests turned the intimate family premise into a broader hololive celebration, while Pekomama's quieter responses kept the contrast with her daughter's high-energy hosting intact.

Pekomama joined Pekora's January 4, 2026 New Year stream for family greetings and conversation. She was still nervous about appearing before a large audience. Their talk included Pekora taking her mother out to eat and an everyday mishap involving the family dog, Love-chan, which had nipped her hand while she was trying to dress it.

Only eight days later, Pekora made a first meeting between her mother and fellow hololive talent Houshou Marine the centerpiece of her January 12 birthday broadcast. The special was explicitly promoted as Marine and Pekomama's first collaboration. Both participants reportedly approached the occasion with nerves, and Pekora's long-running family jokes gained a new on-air partner.

On April 1, 2026—exactly two years after her VTuber-model debut—Pekomama unveiled her first new outfit on Pekora's channel. The reveal paired her with her daughter's coordinated bunny dress: Pekora wore a shorter, frillier look, while Pekomama's version featured a darker, more tailored silhouette with long skirt and bunny ears.

Hikosan credited the design as the 'Pekomama Bunny Costume' (ぺこらマミーバニー衣装). A second costume on the same annual prank date was a fitting callback to her first broadcast, but it did not change the status of her appearances: special events on Pekora's channel rather than a published weekly schedule of her own.
